Matthew at Top Quality Soft Washing cleaned my asphalt shingled roof a little over a year ago. There was quite a bit of moss. He sprayed the roof while being respectful of my home; no damage to the structure or to the bushes and shrubs near my foundation. It took several months for the dead moss to fall off naturally, but when it was completely gone the roof looked restored to its original beautify. Highly recommend.
